I was a teen mom at 19 and I hadn’t finished school at the   time, your life journey as a teen mom helped me. No one told me that I would   not be anything but yet I felt worthless and didn’t know what I was going to   do with a kid. Your story of determination, desire, courage, etc to prove   those wrong was amazingly inspiring. You showed that no matter what you can   make something great out of what was to be the worst. Dr. Jackson has always been a shining star in my life since I met her, while I was not a teen mother I was a YOUNG mother. She has always encouraged me to get my life on the right path and inspired me to put God first. I began praying and going back to church and putting faith in the Lord. I reached out about 3 years ago and wanted to purchase her book, “Faith: My Walking Cane to Glory” and it completely transformed my life. I graduated high school with a 3.2 GPA, I am currently an active-duty military member, and I am currently enrolled in my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice program with a concentration in crime scene investigations. During my senior year of high school, at the age of 17, I encountered an unforeseen and profoundly challenging situation: an unexpected pregnancy. This moment, understandably, brought with it a profound sense of failure and the distressing belief that my aspirations were irrevocably altered.

It was through the compassionate guidance of Dr. Jackson, particularly her published works and insightful conversations, that I began to understand that early motherhood did not have to signify the end of my personal or professional trajectory. Her mentorship provided a vital perspective, demonstrating that life does not cease to offer opportunities simply because one becomes a young parent.

Demonstrating remarkable resilience, I navigated the complexities of raising two children by age 19 and a third by 21. Crucially, this did not deter me from my unwavering commitment to pursuing a fulfilling life and creating a better future for my children and myself.
